Live Fire Veggie Salsa


  • 10 Roma tomatoes
  • 3 tomatillos
  • 2 Bland Farms® Premium Sweet Onions
  • 2 red bell peppers
  • 2 yellow or orange bell peppers
  • 2 garlic cloves
  • 1 large jalapeño
  • 1 lime
  • 1 teaspoon cumin
  • 1/2 bunch fresh cilantro
  • salt and pepper


  1. Light the Big Green Egg all-natural lump charcoal. Once coals are hot, spread out to make an even bed of burning charcoal. Remove grate.
  2. Half the Bland Farms Premium Sweet Onions and remove the outside layer. Half the peppers and remove the seeds and stems. Place the onions, peppers, and garlic directly on the coals. Cook for 10 minutes, turning occasionally. Halfway through, add the tomatoes and tomatillos. Cook for 5 minutes, turning occasionally until charred. Remove vegetables and let cool. Add all grilled vegetables into a food processor and pulse for desired consistency. Add juice from lime, chopped cilantro, cumin, salt, and pepper. Mix well. Chill and serve with chips!
