While Glennville, GA-based Bland Farms has been successful growing onions for nearly 30 years, Delbert Bland, president and owner of the company, is excited about the opportunities that adding sweet potatoes to the mix has brought.
Bland Farms LLC of Glennville, GA is known far and wide for its sweet onions — especially its annual abundant Vidalia crop — but over the last two years, Bland has sweetened the deal even further with the addition of another traditional Georgia staple, sweet potatoes.
Bland Farms Vidalia onion deal wrapped up the first week of August in 2015 but ran almost three weeks longer this year due to a bumper crop. But that doesn’t mean the company’s Peruvian sweet deal is holding back.
