Goes Great with
Bland Farms Caramelized Premium Sweet Onion & Goat Cheese Tart
Ingredients
- 4 large Bland Farms Premium Sweet Onion sliced
- 2 puff pastry sheets cut into 9 pieces each
- 4 oz Crumbled Goat Cheese
- 1 stick unsalted butter
- 1 Egg
- ¼ cup olive oil
- ½ cup balsamic vinegar
- 2 tablespoon brown sugar
- Fresh Thyme
- Honey
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Line a large baking tray with parchment paper. Set aside.
- In a medium skillet set over high heat, add the olive oil, butter and the sliced onions.
- Cook over high heat until they start to brown, about 5 minutes.
- Reduce heat to medium low and allow the onions to continue to cook for 15 – 20 minutes or until they become a deep golden color and are very soft, stirring occasionally.
- Once desired color is achieved add the brown sugar and balsamic vinegar and cook for 5 minutes. Remove from heat.
- Cut each pastry sheet into 9 equal squares and place on the baking tray.
- Brush the edges of the pastry with the whisked egg.
- Place a spoonful of the onions in the center of each pastry square.
- Top with Goat Cheese and Fresh Thyme.
- Bake for around 15 minutes or until golden and puffed.
- Remove from oven and drizzle with honey.
- Serve immediately.
